The Bauhinia – Central is introducing a new glass curtain wall with BIPV technology, a grid-connected solar solution that reduces carbon emissions while preserving architectural design. Unlike rooftop panels, BIPV integrates directly into the façade, requiring no extra space—ideal for dense urban areas like Hong Kong.

Supported by government initiatives to expand renewable energy, Chinney Group has embraced green innovation with this landmark project, Hong Kong’s first sealed BIPV hotel, launched in 2022. Although the curtain wall costs 10–15% more than a standard wall, it delivers added value through clean energy. The system features 954 solar modules with an 84.3 kW capacity, generating 24,800 kWh annually and cutting over 16 tons of carbon emissions each year.
